"We are a small family owned and run winery in the Kamptal, situated north of the Danube. Our top priority has always been to give the maximum care to our vineyard to obtain the best possible grapes. We are fortunate to have some very old vines that produce low yields but very high quality grapes. We do a traditional fermentation in small tanks using native yeasts. We have chosen this kind of winemaking because it enhances their beautiful typicity of our vineyards. We are fortunate to have a very old historic subterranean cellar where our wines can mature in perfect conditions. Both normal barrels and large neutral vats are used in order not to allow the wood to overpower the wine. We are proud of owning the oldest traditional basket press in this part of Europe dating back to 1564 A.D. This very old basket press has never left our village. Originally it was used by the Benedictine Abbey of Gottweig near Krems, which had vineyards also in Engabrunn, and eventually found its way to us. Herbs, citrus, bright, fresh, happy. This is a 1L bottle, which is slightly larger than the typical 750ml size, which means you get an extra glass. Lagniappe!
