One of the most historic estates in the Clisson region of the lower Loire Valley. Vines have been grown here for centuries, some documents suggesting as early as1337. The first archival mention of Muscadet and its grape, Melon de Bourgogne, comes in 1635. Throughout its storied 700-year history, it has only changed hands four times. Today, the 90-hectares property, which is farmed organically, is a designated Bird Sanctuary and Parc Natural. 100% Melon de Bourgogne. Lower Loire Valley, AOC Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine. Traditional vinification techniques preserve the full potential of the grapes. Fruit is pressed as soon as it arrives in the cellar; clarification of the must is carried out naturally within 24 hours. Wines are fermented in concrete, temperature-controlled vats using native yeasts and then aged for the winter on their lees. This maturation method is specific to the Muscadet region and produces purer, more aromatic and complex wines. Bouquet Fresh and slightly sparking, with floral and fruity aromas reminiscent of apricot and hawthorn. After maturation, intense notes of fresh melon develop. Taste Fresh and pleasant in the mouth, with an enviably long finish.
