Verdelho, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay. A mind-bending, nutty, rich white. Rare wine, extremely low production and a very popular winemaker. We are lucky to have it; snap it up while you can. Info from the winery: This is a wonderful and surprising blend based on Markus Bokisch's hillside Verdelho from the eastern hills of Lodi. The wines was partially skin-fermented in a large open air vat, then barrel aged with topping or sulfur for about 15 months. Then it was blended in the same original vat with Chardonnay from Tenbrink, Chuy, and Matthiassson (all fractions declassified from very fancy single-vineyard bottlings), skin-fermented Gewurz from Lost Slough, and the sadly declassified Sauvignon from Farina, and a little Theuth too. The wine is rich but snappy with acid, gravelly with minerality, and slightly tannic and nutty from the skins and seeds. This wine will age well for a few years.
